Job Description


Elevation Procurement & Supply Chain are exclusively working with a major Medical Manufacturer based in South Yorkshire in the search for a CIPS educated Buyer who is looking to take the next step in their career. A globally recognised organisation, this role will play a critical role in the success of the site and the wider business.

My client is looking for a well-rounded Purchasing professional with experience across Engineering, Medical, Aerospace or Automotive Manufacturing Industries. Responsible for managing material and service requirements, this role will include managing supplier performance, maintaining inventory levels and delivering on agreed KPIs.

Alongside this, you will be working cross functionally with a range of departments across the business so communication and relationship building skills are essential.

Managing a spend of £7M+, experience with Direct and Indirect plus site services purchasing is essential to this role.

CIPS qualified or working towards would be desirable for this role.


Key duties and responsibilities will include:

Managing material and service requirements across the function
Monitoring Supplier performance against agreed KPIs to ensure the highest level of performance whilst meeting customer demand
Successfully onboard new suppliers in line with strict requirements
Work closely with all internal and external stakeholders in order to gain a true understanding of needs across the business
Analysing customer requirements based on sales orders for short, medium and long-term forecasts.
Applying LEAN methodologies where needed to reduce waste for internal processes
Deputise for Purchasing Manager when required


Elevation Procurement & Supply Chain would be keen to speak with candidates who have the following skills and experiences:

Educated to degree level or equivalent
CIPS Qualified or working towards (organisation will continue to fund studying for this)
Demonstrable experience within Engineering, Medical, Aerospace or Automotive manufacturing environments
Managed spends of £7M+
Direct and Indirect Exposure
Proven experience and working knowledge of MRP systems
Demonstrated experience of process improvements
Confident when speaking to and managing stakeholders on all levels
Proven analytical, planning and strong organisation skills
Experience across all Microsoft Packages
