Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be the retained recruitment partner of Wild Life Group Limited, as they look to appoint a dynamic and ambitious Financial Controller.

Wild Life Group Limited is a privately owned business that includes Yorkshire Wildlife Park, the Hex Hotel and the recently opened Yorkshire Hive as part of their successful and growing organisation.

They have come a long way since Yorkshire Wildlife Park welcomed their first visitors in 2009. The Park is now a dynamic centre for conservation and welfare, with over 400 animals and over 70 different species, and with the addition of the hotel, boutique shops and restaurants, and a growing list of visitor attractions, the Group continues to go from strength to strength.

Last year was the Group’s most successful year to date, and it is this continued growth that has led to this new Financial Controller role being created. Reporting to the CFO you will lead and manage the UK business entities financial accounting, reporting, cash flow management, business planning and control activities.

You will be responsible for providing an oversight of financial, management and statutory reporting, budgeting and forecasting, and you will also have significant commercial input by working with the Commercial Director and Heads of Departments to support strategic business initiatives and ensure the optimum performance.

Responsibilities will include:

• Production of Management Accounts – including commentary and analysis
• Preparing budgets and forecasts
• Business partnering – commercial support to drive business performance
• Support with a wide variety of projects across the Group
• Management of external audit and completing of statutory accounts
• Ensure compliance with internal procedures and controls
• Strong Balance Sheet Control
• Board Paper preparation
• Pricing and Modelling for new business opportunities
• Development of key metrics to measure business performance
• Process improvements

Key Skills / Qualifications:

• Fully qualified (ACMA, ACCA, ACA)
• Leadership experience
• Management and financial accounting experience
• Drive, motivation to make a difference
• Organisational skill and ability to work in a complex environment with many facets
• Confidence and credibility to work alongside and influence operational and external stakeholders
