Job Description

Elevation HR are working with a business services and distribution company as they look to appoint a HR Advisor on a 7-month fixed-term contract, with the potential to extend, on a full-time basis. 

Our client is based in Hull however the role offers hybrid working and are happy with the successful candidate to attend the office once a week or fortnight dependent on where they live in the Yorkshire area. 

Reporting to the Head of People Services, you’ll coach and supportmanagers on a range of employee relations matters while managing your own caseload of cases through to resolution. As a HR Advisor, you will be responsible for: 

  • Providing day-to-day HR guidance to managers and employees, resolving policy, process and system queries efficiently at first point of contact.
  • Managing a varied and complex ER caseload, including disciplinary, grievance, performance and absence matters, ensuring appropriate risk management and compliance.
  • Coaching and advising line managers on sensitive employee issues, building confidence and capability in managing people effectively.
  • Reviewing and supporting key HR documentation, including Occupational Health referrals, investigations and performance improvement plans, providing pragmatic and commercially focused advice.
  • Building strong stakeholder relationships while supporting wider HR initiatives, delivering manager training and ensuring policies and processes are applied consistently across the organisation.

The ideal HR Advisor will:

  • Be confident managing their own ER caseload, from routine employee matters through to complex and sensitive cases.
  • Be experienced in providing clear, commercially minded HR and ER advice to managers and employees.
  • Be comfortable working independently, using sound judgement when handling sensitive and confidential employee matters.
  • Be CIPD qualified or working toward this
