Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to announce their exclusive partnership with Stanley Black & Decker in their search for a Value Shift Leader at their Rotherham manufacturing site. This is a brilliant opportunity to join a highly successful organisation who are going from strength to strength in an evolving market.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage and supervise manufacturing team, team leaders, setter operators, operators and labourers
• Ensure holiday planning is scheduled and potential gaps are filled
• Assess training needs and skill shortages of the team and implement training program
• Manage and supervise assembly and pack team, operators, and labourer/line feeder
• Manage department’s resources maintaining efficient and effective production capabilities and planning work throughput to deliver goods on time to Third party affiliates and Hellaby factory
• Identifying and managing equipment shortfalls tooling failures and arranging repair or replacement
• Manage department in delivering KPI’s Scrap, 5’s, Asset care and productivity targets.
• Assume overall responsibility for the production costs and efficiency of assigned Value Stream.
• Maintain quality through all processes; reacts to quality issues and responds with corrective actions.
• Utilises lean concepts to drive process improvements, data analysis, standardisation and regular project management.
• Insures strict compliance with corporate EH&S goals and compliance objectives
• Insures that programs and procedures are adopted to guard against industrial accidents and protect the safety and wellbeing of area employees
• Fully support and comply with all ISO Quality and Environmental Systems and SFS objectives and projects
• Accountable for establishing and executing productivity projects to meet Value Stream and plant targets
• Responsible to work with product teams to ensure manufacturability of new product(s), machine specifications, plant capital requirements, project timelines, and production launch
• Continually reviewing and evaluating existing operating policies, procedures, systems, schedules, equipment, etc., and overseeing the implementation of modifications and improvements
• Through subordinates and upon approval, as necessary, establishes operating policies, procedures and practices for their manufacturing area; interprets and explains objectives, programs and policies
• Continually monitoring the performance of each function reporting to him/her and insuring the maintenance of normal operations
• Regularly reviews and analyses various types of manufacturing related reports and keeps senior management informed of significant activities and problems
• Continually reviews market position SKU by SKU with product management and makes recommendations to improve such position such as NPD, SKU rationalization and process improvement
• WAVE leadership role

REQUIREMENTS:
• HNC/HND (minimum) in an Engineering or manufacturing discipline
• 2+ years experience required in manufacturing environment
• Demonstrate strong “hands on” mechanical skills and understanding of key processes (Plastic moulding & automation)
• Trouble shooting skills on machinery and systems of work
• Must apply judgment to plan and perform assigned tasks within known limits
• Constant drive and passion to improve current processes and meet deadlines
• Provide solutions to problems with full project planning demonstrated (timing plans etc)
• Works with heightened care to avoid the risk of injury to others
• Demonstrated ability/desire to learn new technologies.
• Demonstrates the Stanley Leadership Qualities
• Proactive – gets the job done
• Strong root cause analysis experience to eliminate reoccurring problems
• Operates in accordance with Stanley Black & Decker Values
• Fully supports SFS 2010 principles & objectives
• Hands on planning and execution of responsibilities and directives
• Excellent communication / interpersonal skills
• Good understanding and execution of 5’s principles (standardisation, remove waste etc)
• Ability to work within strict deadlines and on multiple projects
• Strong technical skills (MS Office products, Database Programming, PLC etc.)
