Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be working in partnership with Bridon Bekaert Ropes Group in their search for a Senior Mechanical Engineer.
This role will specialise in the design and development of steel rope solutions but there is no requirement to have experience in this industry. We are interested in an excellent mechanical engineer who is quick to learn, assimilate new technologies and who has a curious mind.
Bridon Bekaert Ropes Group have over 300 years of experience in steel wire and rope technology and this is a great opportunity to work for a global company in a personable team at their centre of excellence in Doncaster. Hybrid working is available.
As Senior Mechanical Engineer you will be responsible for leading multiple projects in rope technology across industries as diverse as energy, mining, elevators, cranes, fishing and forestry. In time, you will become the go-to expert, providing rope technology expertise throughout the business.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for:
- Leading defined rope technology development projects
- Providing technical and project leadership throughout the R&D process
- Identifying and instigating key test programmes on existing and new products
- Developing and sharing expertise throughout the business
- Handling internal and external technical queries
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will need:
- A solid fundamental background in mechanical engineering
- Experience in design, development and/or R&D
- The ability to take ownership and to lead on technical projects
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with customers
- A passion for engineering and the on-going development of rope technology
