The virtual professional network is privy to over 225 million members, and is therefore used by prospective employers as a powerful people searching tool. LinkedIn gives you an opportunity to control what they discover about your strengths and, more importantly, about your brand. 

Equally, be mindful of what you post on other sites such as Facebook if your profiles are public. Always consider whether you are presenting a side of yourself you are happy to share in anything you publish.

Know your worth
