Retail Scheme to Create 100 Jobs

A North Yorkshire retail scheme has been approved by authorities which will create 100 jobs.

The project at Skelton-in-Cleveland will total 41,470 sq ft, having been recently granted approval by the local council. The planning application was put forward by Manchester’s HOW Planning, on behalf of Urban and Civic.

Included on the site will be a 5,000 sq ft B&M Bargains site; a Pheasant Fields Lane 22,500 sq ft retail unit, and two smaller retail units with a McDonald’s restaurant. Adjacent to the site is an existing Asda supermarket and a consented Aldi foodstore and Marston’s Public House.

Emma Williams, planning at HOW Planning, said the development would ‘improve the economic sustainability of Skelton by strengthening the local economy through investment and employment.’
