A host of the regions’ most successful and influential brands and business leaders came together last week to attend the 16^th Sheffield Business Awards.

The dinner was once again well-attended by more than 900 delegates; with dozens of companies competing in 16 categories including the Evoluted ‘Excellence in Corporate, Social and Environmental Responsibility Award’, The Wake Smith ‘Excellence in Manufacturing Award’, and of course the ‘Outstanding Business of the Year Award’, sponsored by City Taxis. 

The strong turnout is evidence that this prestigious event continues to be one of the highlights of the region’s events calendar - providing not only an opportunity to celebrate yet another year of success for those businesses who have long called South Yorkshire home, but to also a chance to welcome an increasingly eclectic mix of new comrades to the fold.

As ever, the judges took the opportunity to comment on the calibre of the entries that they received this year, with the awards going to, amongst others, The SCX Group, Thermotex Engineering Ltd, Sheffield Doc Fest and Doncaster Sheffield Airport.

Marc Wildes, of P Wildes Group and Hotel Van Dyk, took home the Shorts Accountants’ Business Person of the Year Award, and REACH Homes, the cost effective eco-homes builder, received the overarching accolade of Outstanding Business of the Year.

Commenting on the awards Elevation Recruitment Group’s Chief Executive, Greg Parkinson, said:

Having further increased employee numbers in 2017, the business has confirmed that it will be opening a new state of the art office in Wakefield, which will increase the number of their dedicated Yorkshire-based operating offices to three.
