Sunflower set for international growth following acquisition

Written by John Bohan

A Bradford-based healthcare equipment manufacturer which supplies NHS hospitals, surgeries and clinics has been bought by a Swedish engineering group.

The deal, which was supported by corporate finance advisers BCMS – a market leader in the sale of SME and mid-market companies – marks the first time that Indutrade has established a presence in the UK’s medical products market.

Founded in 2003, Sunflower is recognised as an innovative designer-manufacturer and a leader in its field. Commenting on the acquisition Sunflower managing director Marc Byrnes said: "We have enjoyed growing the business to this stage, but with the international business really picking up now, we are keen to join a larger group with a significant overseas presence to help us scale up quickly.

"All the staff and my fellow directors are looking forward to the next chapter in our journey."
